$83,000 phone bill - another evolution in cell phone companies making you take it up the a$$

A Canadian oil-field worker was stunned to get a C$85,000 (US$83,700) cell phone bill. From what reason you might ask ... using his phone as a modem for his computer as part of his C$10 unlimited browser plan from Bell Mobility, a division of Bell Canada. He downloaded movies and other large files. Bell Mobility counters this claim by stating it is clearly stated in the contract that the plan is not for downloading computer files.As a consolation, no doubt because of the hoopla surrounding the story, Bell Mobility has since lowered the initial bill to C$3,400 as a gesture of "goodwill." As a side note Staniaszek does not want to talk to the press because he is afraid to use his cell phone thus incurring more long-distance charges.
